When ambling through the aisles of antique malls, I keep an eye out for any vintage Frenchie or near-Frenchie items. Peering around corners and into the backs of shelves, it feels like a different type of Easter egg hunt trying not to overlook hidden bulldog treasures. While in an antique mall this summer, I glanced […]

A website named The Burning House rings rather true these days in light of recent wildfires in Texas. The site poses this one question, “If your house was burning, what would you take with you?” Something we’ve been asking ourselves quite a bit lately. Answers are provided by various people in thoughtful photo essay form. […]

Today’s the day! Central Texas breaks the 1925 record of 69 days over 100° F with day 70 for 2011; and with the crispy expectation of besting it by another couple of weeks before we see a day less than 100° around here. What do people do when they need to make a serious change […]

There’s so many interesting topics on the internet with a surprising tie to French Bulldogs. Such as creative paintings of fancy cakes at the “Let Them Eat Cake” gallery art show. What led us here? This phase, one of many, was added below each cake painting on display. She was taking the train to New York […]

There is a tiny town/commune in France named…are you ready for this? Bully-les-Mines Ah yes, can’t you see them mining sparkling, new French Bulldogs from the mountains; ready to be set free so they can begin zooming around, happily snorting? Hum, wonder what other perfectly Bully cities and towns exist? How about just plain Bully, France? […]

That cute spot, right in the middle of your pied Frenchie’s forehead? It actually has a name. It’s called the “Haggerty Spot” or “Angel’s Kiss” depending who you talk to. Every single Pied we’ve ever had, or bred, has has this spot in some variation. In fact, this spot is one reason we ended up […]

Our hearts go out to John Travolta and to his family on the loss of their son Jett earlier this week. At the age of two, Jett contracted Kawasaki Disease after the family had their home carpets cleaned. Kawasaki Disease was a possible cause of lifelong seizures for Jett and his far too early demise. […]

Was recently asked this by a shoe designer who has a whole line of Betty Boop inspired shoes. (More about her fun and sassy shoes later.) Betty Boop was created back in the 1930s when Frenchies often had longer tails and rose ears weren’t uncommon. The bat ear had only been specified by the French Bulldog […]

Yves Saint Laurent ‘s passing happened a couple of months ago, but recently found this in-depth blog entry by Pet Sugar about his constant French Bulldog companion(s) named Moujik. Hidden in the entry is a link to a short article about famous people in history and their association with Frenchies. Look below the big photo […]
