Checkout these great photos of Frenchies surfing at the Surf City Surf Dog competition in Huntington Beach, California. The event took place last weekend, September 23–25, 2011.
The 2011 competition results list Luigi, a French Bulldog, coming in second for the Small Dog Category and another Frenchie, Deagan, winning Best Wipeout. Please note, all dogs in the competition are wearing life jackets. A must-have item for sink-like-a-rock Frenchies.
Abbie Girl, an Australian Kelpie, set a new Guiness world record for longest canine board ride at 60 meters. Seeing as the word Kelpie also means a supernatural water horse in Celtic, how perfect is that?

And for those of you who have to see these dogs in action, here’s a video clip from KTLA.com in Los Angeles, CA.
If you want to learn more about Deagan, and how his owners must spell B-E-A-C-H and S-U-R-F around him, watch the (lengthy) YouTube video of TV coverage clips below. Minute 4:40 begins the best interview info about Deagan and his hobby.
