–Well, as long as you are within 150 miles of the East Texas Piney Woods, that is!
On October 29, a French Bulldog specialty show is being held in Austin, Texas.
What is a specialty you wonder? Aren’t Frenchies already special enough?
A specialty dog show is a show where 100 percent of your (and our) favorite breed gallops around the show ring. Usually a specialty has some extra classes, such as Veterans to show off the old-timers, and Stud Guy and Brood Gal to show off the dogs contributing their genes to bettering the breed. There might be a raffle or other fund-raising events, too.
Sometimes there is a sweepstakes, most times a Puppy Sweepstakes for pups to get extra practice and extra goodies.
If you’ve been thinking of getting a French Bulldog, a specialty is a good way to see nice Frenchies, meet owners and breeders, and learn more about the breed. (But best to leave any unentered dogs at home. If you ever go to a dog show, you’ll immediately realize why.)
Does this all sound fun? Then you are in luck! On October 29th a specialty show is being hosted by the Heart of Texas French Bulldog Club. This specialty includes regular classes, non-regular classes, a raffle, TWO sweepstakes (one for puppies and one for veterans), and an RVSP dinner.
Entries for this show close tomorrow at noon, Oct 13, 2010.
